Carsten Wiesbaum

At Gofore, I head the Solution Architecture service area. Since 2011, I have been shaping the modernisation of complex, historically grown IT landscapes – with architectures that fit technically, procedurally, and organisationally, and that create measurable business value.

To me, modernisation is more than a technical update or a migration. It is a strategic task: many initiatives fail not because of the technology, but because of missing alignment, insufficient planning, or because technology is looked at in isolation.

My projects have taught me that technology is only one building block. I first understand my clients' circumstances, goals, and challenges – including processes, organisation, and culture. From that, I develop architectures that fit them, and I cut large undertakings into workable pieces so they succeed under real-world conditions.

Currently, my main focus is renewing core systems at leasing companies. A second focus is sustainable software architecture: I see the combination of digitalisation and sustainability as a real competitive advantage.
